I am strongly opposed to social networking sites, especially myspace... but recently I found it necessary to join one in order to access images friends had posted and here about event occurring with my peers. I am now a member of facebook :(

I sort of find it a necessary evil in the current times. So, without further ado, does anyone use this horribly terribly evil social networking site? And if so, should we friend each other and start an IS group on the site to try to attract more people from these behemoths to infinite-story?

I think those ChooseYourStory guys ended up creating a MySpace page for their site in an attempt to get people to join it. Though I’m not exactly sure how effective that would be, since from what I can tell, people can have 3 million “friends” on those things and it doesn’t mean a whole hell of a lot.

But anyway, I’m not a fan of social networking site for several reasons, so I wouldn’t be the one creating such a thing.

I completely understand End. I was basically bullied into getting a facebook, but now that I have one I was wondering if anyone else did so perhaps we could exploit it as a way to draw more traffic to the site.

Oh yeah I knew what you meant. I suppose you could try creating a page for the site or however that works.

I had us on the Wiki under Addventure, but it seems that’s been changed as well. I don’t feel like getting into revert war again at the moment though and I already got banned from the Wiki once under a different address.

I mentioned us at a couple other forums I posted at a few times, but seeing as I’m not very social, I figure the rest of you can do all the work as far as promotion better than I could.

I know I've already attracted 3 or 4 members from people I know personally... but there isn't a huge interest in writing. Most people are completely illiterate.

I do have one of those MySpace things, though it's rather basic and I seldom visit it. Mostly I agree about those sites. We could always use some new blood, though, so if someone wants to take the time to throw up a profile, I'm all for it. Try to make it spiffy and subtly filled with big words, to discourage those who can't read them.

I have a deviantart page, but I detest myspace. I also am a member of plime, which is kind of, sort of a social network place. But it's really more of a news/link discussion site. You should all join it, it's pretty sweet.

I was bullied into joining orkut and MySpace both of which are godawful. I am currently being bullied into joining facebook. They're bigger and know too many secrets. I can't resist them.
