I am still miffed at the fact that Michael snubbed me on my Secret Santa last year. I propose that we have one again this year!
Create an interesting picture or short piece of writing that you think would really amuse/enchant/horrify the person. I would be happy to do the honors this year in drawing names from my not-so-proverbial gold-sequined top hat.
Please drop a line here if you are interested and I can have everyone sorted out by next week.
It'll be fun, I promise!

If you'd sent the naked pictures that he asked of you, he probably would've sent you something.

Like what? Naked pictures of him? I value my eyesight too much for that.
So is that a "yes", End?

As funny as that was, I have to decline the Secret Santa stuff, I never was much into those things. You’ll probably get a bunch of other people to join though.

Clarify this Secret Santa thing for me a little more. How exactly does it work? Who does the drawing? Are the gifts supposed to be somehow anonymous?Something writing-related sounds interesting; I have less art ability than Endmaster shows with his occasional forum cartoons, though.

Well, last year, a group of us decided it would be fun to have a Secret Santa, so Apoth drew names and then PMed each individual with the name of the person for whom they had to write/draw/create something. Some of the "gifts" included additions to someone's preexisting story, silly crappy MS Paint pictures and short, personalized works of fiction. Nothing elaborate, really. Everything was sent through PM. Naturally, the "deadline" was Christmas, but being the slackers that we are, lots of us made posts to the effect of Secret Auld Lang Syne and Secret Cupid and maybe even Secret Easterbunny.

I will send really raunchy pornographic images edited on paint with childhood characters superimposed to whoever I get... just as a warning. Or pictures of dead babies next to gourmet meals....

So presumably you find out who your Santa is when you recieve your gift? I've never worked where they do this sort of thing, and my friends are perpetually broke and not of the gift-exchanging persuasion. Forgive me for being a little vague. Anyway, I'm in. To whoever does happen to draw my name, please nothing overtly sexual, crude, or otherwise tasteless. EDIT: Unless you want to spring for a child sex robot; I hear there's a market for them this time of year.

In answer to your question, Locke: yes, you will know ultimately who yours is because you will get a PM from them. The fun part is waiting in anticipation, I suppose.
Glad to see some interest. Don't be shy, folks. Step right up! I won't bite (unless you ask me to).

I'd actually like to be in too - it's a neat idea. Unfortunately I don't really know any of you guys. This would be a great thing to propose on CYS but would hate to steal the idea.
Vesnic

Secret Santa was hardly our original concept. I don't see why you couldn't do it over at CYS too...just don't expect the same level of hilarity and brilliance over there as you get here. But of course you know that already.

I will probably be sorting out the Secret Santas on Sunday night and sending everyone PM's to their SITE inboxes, since I know the ones on the forums are filling up.
Anyone else interested?

Ok, kids. PM's have been sent to the site email. If you have any trouble accessing your messages over there, post here and I'll PM you on the forum.
We have a total of ten participants this year! Ho ho hooray!

Now let us never speak of this again.
You make me sick.
Hi! My name is: Katie

I didn't get anything either... but I did give something to X-Null... I'm just not sure he got it. Meh. Bah Humbugs were the primary gift this year. I might return mine, if my secret santa would identify himself!
Maybe we could make it Secret Presidents... and have them due on Presidents day to give the slackers some time... because letting them off the hook is sooo not happening. And, if they don't follow through, we'll label them traitors and set up the guillotine. What do you think V? Are you in for some unorthodox justice?

Oh Katie, I'm such a dope. I did your gift a while ago, but I completely forgot the screen shot. I whored that free rice site until it hit 10,000 grains of rice. I was going to send you the screen shot but then I lost the browser. I'm sorry that it is kind of lame. But yes, I donated 10,000 grains of rice to starving children for you. That should feed an Ethiopian Village for generations going by their current diets.

Now you can take comfort in the fact that you have helped to feed starving people or something like that, so the next time you indulge or don't donate to something, you have an excuse.
EDIT: And I never got mine either.

Huh. I don't really care about the "Ending world hunger part" but I do enjoy the game.
I didn't know what "Humus" was until now. I feel enlightened. Also I think I just fed 1,000 Ethiopians for 75 years. GO ME!

I have humus coming out of my ears. My family eats that shit by the gallon.
Yes, Katie, I absolutely agree that it is time to get out the guillotine. Do you think the pretty pink one would do? The one with the zombie Barbie engravings on the side? It needs a little sharpening, but I'm sure we could just stick Locke in there for a test run before the real executions get underway. I would use a watermelon instead, but I don't have one.

This has nothing to do with Secret Santa anymore.
If you've nothing on-topic to say, then why don't you just open up Word and write some nonsense there and hit the Delete button once it's out of your system?

In case you haven't noticed, O Queen of Spite, we tend to hijack threads that are long since dead.
One would typically get over it in such a circumstance.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the exact reason Sev eliminated the Off-Topic forum for a few months? We kept filling all of the forums with off-topic drivel, drowning out any and all actual discussions?
