This is a "Word Association" thing. As in what first comes to mind when you hear a word. Thanks to all the Aid and help and adopt a child in need commercials AMERICAN TV runs all the freakin' time, that image I described was what first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word "Africa". This is not my arrogant take on any such thing. No smugness here. This is the Programming of our minds by our american TV commercials, trying to use guilt to get us to donate to their cause over the thousands of others.

What I really hate is the highly emotionally manipulative nature of Sally Struthers and all the others who put together these commercials. We have enough poor and destitute people in this country, this continent, this hemisphere, and so on... so why should these poor African children be the only ones that deserve aid?
