View Full Version : New Images Don't Show Up

Any image I upload to a new room I have created will not show up... I have noticed this in two stories.

The images fit within the size parameters given, and when the room is loaded there is a quick flash where the image is suppose to be and then it is simply not there.

Same thing happened to me when I tried to upload some pictures for Paco Valdez. I got around it using the [ img ] tags.

I know I can always do that... but I was going to add to Escape Artist which has hundreds of images... and I'd prefer to upload directly.

Is Sev no longer accepting uploaded images?

I fix this and then it breaks again. Anyway, I just tested it AGAIN and it appears to work for me.

I can't wait until I get this moved over. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if it isn't working.

If anyone notices this again, please send me a personal message ASAP from the IS site.

Unless you see an announcement, I wouldn't take away a feature like this. Especially since it was saying "We saved your room."

Yeah, I see that all of the stories that had images in them have the infamous Red Xs again.

Any images that were created when the bug existed are lost. Please someone try adding an image and confirm that it is working for them.

Gah! I just uploaded those from last time this happened! I'll upload the pics again in a few days, unless someone can test it out before hand. Apoth, didn't you have a bunch of images for your stories?

there is only one picture at the start of the story;is this the only one you reset?

None of the images in my stories are currently showing up. So do you mean that all images uploaded at any point prior to now need to be reuploaded?

I see the image flash briefly then disappear (when I'm reading my story).

Please send url's for all pages that aren't showing images.... or for any other image related problems you are having.

Everything should be functioning as it has, you can access remote images with [url] or upload images on to this server.

I can see any images that were already posted before the updating, but I think the problem is if you try to upload any new ones they don’t show up.

Here’s an example of when I tried to replace a pic for one of my stories.

I've also noticed that the site no longer supports several foreign-language letters. For instance, it will take an umlaut, but not an accented umlaut. This is most distressing!

Ahh ok. The image was removed for a while, check the link. There is an image attached to the story. It briefly appears and then disappears again.

Should I msg Sev about this? I don't want to be a nag.

Servers went down at co-lo facility on Feb. 16th. At that time, the NFS mounts and services died which caused the problem again. My friend who set this up didn't make it work upon bootup so I had to restart everything manually.

However!
I did write a script to recopy over the broken images. There were only 102 missing images, but that number is low because most of you now use other services for image hosting.

Sorry for the trouble!

No updates here other than I'm moving my family to another city so we are uh-huh, still really busy.

I still claim that I have not abandoned this site and will finish up the last 20% of the rewrite and get it launched. Then we can have fun and add new features!

Unfortunately, NO ETA!

You're in Oregon? Wow, I didn't know that. I didn't realize you were that close to me. I thought everyone was like on the east side of the mountains. You are like 6 hours from me (or less if you drive like me). No point... just surprised.

Hi, I'm a new member and I can't upload an avatar :( I have already ensured that my image, a gif with a size of 4021 bytes, 72 dpi and 80 x 80 dimensions, conforms with the requirements.

I think the avatars got glitched when the old forums got purged.

Don't really need an Avatar on the main writing site anyway. All the talking goes on over here.

P.S.--I dont see that error message, T, when I go to my blog.

Oh, and something else Ive noticed. When I go to my home page, it says " s Homepage" rather than "Lubes Homepage". Is that a known problem? I see it on some other home pages but not all of them.
