Well, I have been quite sick recently, did nothing but sleep and watch movies all day today and yesterday. I wanted to at least sit up... but I had no creative energy in me... and with images not working I couldn't do any work on Escape Artist, so instead I added up the word counts for all of End's stories.
The total I calculated was 657,899 words. That is significantly longer than War and Peace or Atlas Shrugged. This figure is pretty outstanding and I salute you End, because you have managed to conquer quantity while still maintaining quality.
Note that Legend accounts for over 28.7% of the words End has "published" on the site even though he has produced 13 stories thusfar and it is still unfinished.
Good work End and keep writing.
Perhaps later on I'll tally up a few more members... but I doubt anyone even comes close to Ends word count. Anyone have any suggestions for who I should tally up?
Oh, and I suggest you put all your stories into one book, and title it... "The Complete Works of E. Master" and then get it copyrighted. You'd save a lot of money if you do it all as one book and you have enough words accumulated where it would definitely be worth it to copyright them.

If you’re going strictly by the author’s own stories, I would guess DEP would have a bunch of words as well; he’s got a few more stories too.
I got some of the stuff copyrighted already. 7 of them. When I typed out GZ (The longest one) in a true “book format”, I think it came out to be 200 something pages on Word. I can’t imagine what Legend would be.
If anyone’s lazy, but still interested in getting published (as opposed to just doing it for fun like me), just copyright enough of your stuff at the Library of Congress and you’ll suddenly start getting publisher offers in the mail asking you to send in some of your stuff to them so that they can look at it. It would appear that some of the companies keep track of what’s being copyrighted and/or the LoC is leaking info.
You just can’t beat that sort of pandering to laziness and procrastination!

Alright, I just tallied up all of DEP's stories and his grand total was 279,252 words. He hasn't even reached half of your word count and I'm pretty sure he is the second most prolific writer on this site (unless you count all of the words in Hall of Infinite Doors as mine then I would be the second most prolific... but that story is definitely a group effort, though I have contributed a great deal to it).
Anyone else you think would rival your word count that I should tally up?

I doubt anyone could come close to End, if DEP can't. I mean, who else has that many stories?
What I would be interested in seeing is our total number of words, divided by the number of stories we have. Then it'd show how verbose we are without giving people with more work more weight.
I mean, I'm sure Drag could be a close competitor, but he only has two-three works on the site. I know that's the only way I could even hope to come close to that sort of stat.

With the post on the site being time stamped isnt there already an informal type of copyright in place? You would think some sort of protection from plagiarism would be implied.

Yeah technically anything you create is copyrighted, but I just like formalities for some of the stuff.
Jeff would be the only other one since he’s got about as many stories as DEP, but he doesn’t write overly long rooms. So he’s probably got less words than DEP.
NCPolice has a ton of stories on here, (I think he has the most) but a lot of his have group collaborations, and he’s also contributed to a lot of stories that aren’t his own. (Good luck counting up all those rooms!) DEP probably still has more than him too though, since NCPolice usually didn’t write overly long rooms either.
I usually try to keep the rooms from going past 4 pages on Word. If its going past that, I’m finding a way to split it up.

Once you have a page or two I think it is fully acceptable to start breaking them up.
I wonder what the total site word count is....

Cat2000 probably has a lot. She has a ton of stories and plenty of words in the rooms. Doubt she's near EndMaster, but she may beat me off... er... I mean out. She may beat me out.

I don't think she would beat you in any sense of the term Dep. I say she wouldn't beat in word count because for the most part her stories are under 10000 with a couple of 30000's thrown in there. Overall I'm pretty sure giving it a rough estimate that you are ahead of her.

I am really suprised what was done to you wasnt dealt with more harshly.Plagiarism is practically the worst thing you can do on a site dedicated to creative writing,no matter the form. You would think an immediate ban of the culprits would be in order.
Your "bitterness" is understandable.
