Did anyone else receive private communication from Megaman? I received a PM from him, but I didn't open it. I simply used xnull's link to ignore him. Then I was informed that this communication may have been sent to everyone. End did not receive it, so we couldn't read his however it is apparently a threatening correspondence.

Did anyone else get the PM, and if so can you please post the text here?

I'm not comfortable with being threatened... it may be time to request administrative action to prevent this from happening in the future. Mega has been somewhat problematic for some time. For the time being he will remain on my ignore list.

The only message I got from him was a while ago and it was about that link he posted in the forums that I declared was a Rick Roll or some similar net joke without even clicking on it... He didn't believe that I didn't click on it for some reason, yet still tried to convince me that it was not a Rick Roll or similar net joke... which just made me more sure I was right.

No threats or anything else from him... AND I don't have him on ignore, I am just able to do that naturally by scrolling through his posts on any thread he posts into.

As for the site admit/moderator thing... I think we are pretty good at dealing with things here without a really active moderator, and we have yet to have a real problem that required one. Severenz does a good enough job keeping the real spam cleaned up and out of here, and you guys ignoring some kid you find annoying works well enough.

As for the threat itself... it seems (like Locke and Usoki said) more like a plea for attention than a real threat. He's annoying kid in the back of the room with paste all over his face and hands crying "Stop ignoring me" when he wants people to look at the popsicle stick house he made, even though the rest of the class has moved onto learning their ABC's... Not really a threat, but easily ignored. Think of you using the ignore option as placing him in the special class next door, where only those who choose to go visit have to deal with him.

Yeah, I have to agree with Drag, our community is pretty good at dealing with situations.

And perhaps he did just choose his words poorly... I like the image of him being the kid in the corner covered in paste begging for someone to look at his stuff. Still, the aggression being directed in this instance toward the female members is... well, disconcerting. I don't think he has crushes on us... if he does, I'm married, and Ves requires evidence of natural intellect before she bounces into bed. Pulling our pigtails or whatever just won't attract us.

I don't know if ignoring him is going to work, I'm concerned he may become that other kid... like the Columbine kids... that can't get attention any other way so he decides to destroy everything and everyone. Perhaps this very fear is empowering him, but his history of mental issues makes me favor caution. As for others around insulting you... umm... have you ever actually READ the posts on this forum? Insulting people is kind of how most of these people communicate. Yeah, when I used to drink more heavily, I didn't care as much. They're like water anyway, after a certain point. And as a drug - a couple of glasses of wine excepted in good company; I love the social "flow" that gets going - the going up just isn't worth the coming down anymore. I haven't had anything to drink in months; I'm a complete lightweight at this point. I enjoy some beer, and I'll drink it in good company, but I start feeling it on the second bottle now.
