How do you get round the new images not showing up problem?

It's kind of frustrating, and the infinite story I'm working on kind of requires images, so...

Well until Sev actually comes back to fix stuff, one way you could get images to work in your story is to link them from photobucket or one of those other image hosting places.

You probably still don't want them too much bigger than the normal picture parameters here though (Is it 300x300?) or they'll stretch out the page.

Hmmm... Maybe that won't work so well, unless there's a way of embedding the image on the room itself. I suppose it depends on how willing people are to copy and paste links into their address browsers. Since there are going to be a lot of rooms...

Well, it'll be a while before I have enough rooms for the story to make sense. So maybe I'll carry on working on the images I need to, and wait for Sev.

I'm sort of surprised the photobucket thing isn't working. Chubby and a few others in the past have done their images like that, and it worked. Though I think Chubby actually hotlinked his images straight from whatever site he got them from.

You have to use the IMG tag to link to picture. At least that's how it worked last time I wrote anything... but these are not HTML tags. you have to use square brackets, just as you do in forum posts. Like this...

http://www.eskimo.com/~dragavan/cyoapics/Brains.jpg

That is done using the following format, but remove the spaces.

[ img ]http://www.eskimo.com/~dragavan/cyoapics/Brains.jpg[ /img ]

It should still work to link to images inline. And there are several other such commands you can use to format things in your story as well. We have a post about them somewhere on the forums I am sure, back from when Sev was working on these new features and removing HTML formatting.
