Out of curiosity, are you allowed to delete your own games over here?

Sorta. They no longer appear to the public, and you can't edit or view them yourself. But, the title of the deleted work still exists, as well as all of the rooms, for easy undeletion.

Ah! Cuz at that other site, I just tried deleting my games and nearly immediately they were all republished but from the user "deletedgames". So I gave that obviously fabulous user my trophy, lol.

I mean I understand it from the CYS point of view. Obviously they don't want to lose all those stories, but I dunno, not sure if I like that policy.

Rather than delete your stories on CYS, can't you just hide them from the public viewing? Or is that not an option once it's been "published"?

If you go to "deletedstories" profile, there's a whole bunch of other stories listed as well that are inaccessible though. I don't know if JJJ wrote those, if he did, then he's certainly been really busy because there's way more than the 36 he said he wrote. Unless those are just test stories he worked on and then erased.

The original reason why JJJ came over was a CYS matter so I pretty much stayed out of it being an "outsider" and all, but I sort of don't like the fact that they just went around his back like that. It was sort of like saying "Hey go ahead and leave! We got your stories, we don't need you!"

Again, I understand why CYS would do what they did, but I don't like it.

I was going to do a little "cultural exchange" sort of thing at CYS, but meh, I think I'll be keeping my IS stuff just on here now. No multiple gaming platforms here, IS stuff is going to stay "Infinite Exclusive"

CYS is alright and they do have some nice features, but given recent events, I think I might have problems with some of the policies there in the long run, so I'd rather just stay on good terms with them from afar, rather than deal with what JJJ did.

Thats a really good idea. BTW deletedgames is where ALL deleted games from any member goes. I probably have about 50-60 in there. I only published about 35 of them though. The rest were drafts or lost inspiration.

I don't know its just that the member base really doesn't know where their loyalty lies. I had a real problem with fleshnblood_78, and a few others who basically told me to fuck off, its all been dealt with. It really hadnt been.

Even people who didnt really know me and such (DEP) were behind me on this. Obviously some people over there really have some bias towards me. By the way, the story quality is a billion times higher over here. Glad I came. Thanks for rocking guys. (Keep your stories over here, you never know how much advantadge will be taken if you go over there. Heck once their published their yours in name alone)

Well like was mentioned, the initial argument was CYS policy disagreement between JJJ and the CYS Staff.

Two folks plagiarized JJJ’s work and he really didn’t like it. CYS Staff said they punished the two people for it, but JJJ didn’t think they were punished enough and a big argument ensued and JJJ ended up coming over here.

The rest of the story is pretty much in the thread.

I was just talking about this stuff with Solostrike over at CYS, so I’m pretty much done with the subject and I wasn’t even involved!


Anyway it looks like that political marriage to unite the great tribes is off. I don't think Ves would've liked that idea anyway. Lol.

No, the first one wasnt even punished. He was just scolded. I can only guess what you might have heard from Solostrike, Im pretty sure it probably makes me look pretty bad. Him and Fleshnblood_78 seem to be out to get me lately. Id say it was jealousy but they dont have much to be jealous of lol (besides like 2x as many points and a bazillion more posts and featured games before and such but thats beside the point).

Also I really didnt like how about 1% of the community was behind me, and most of the major members were against me. That just pissed me off. So I fucking came over to the land of the people who dont mind you saying fuck. Im loving it.

oh and by the way, he purposefully brought them back from deleted games. They were off the catagories until he purposefully brought them back in. There was no "mistake that makes them look bad". Im familliar with the system

Funny thing is, it looks like primates and simpsons pretty much got what they wanted - JJJ gone. Does that mean they win the argument?

Ipod also sent me a PM about joining a contest or something, but I declined. As for Solostrike, he didn’t mention you or this incident; he was basically speaking to me in general, saying if I had any questions to go ahead ask him and stuff. He mentioned he’d been lurking over at IS a few times.

It was more of an optimistic PM since he was going on about how it seemed like the sites were starting to bridge a gap and come together and how it would be better for the CYOA communities to join together. Even a mention of maybe a unification of the sites one day.

However, all this stuff was occurring at the time, and I just mentioned to Solo that recent events seem to have widened that gap again. Basically I gave my position like I have on here, that I wouldn’t be writing over there in the near future. I might visit, but that’s about it. And I basically said everyone over there was pretty cool with me while I was playing foreign ambassador, so it’s not like I hated them or the site, it just wasn’t where I was going to be.

I got another PM from him just now and he was cool, he just didn’t want any hostilities between the two sites, which like I said, I don’t really have. (I don't speak for other people though, they can be as mad as they want!)

Call me a snob, but I don't really see the need for unification of the two sites (as End so cleverly guessed). I think there would just be a lot of bickering and neither side would be really content. For instance, we would have to either force them to appreciate our filthy fucking mouths or we would have to start talking like televangelists, which I know wouldn't appeal to too many of us around here. Also, the basic emphasis of the two sites is totally different. Drag was right to call you guys out on using the term "game". That's just not what IS is all about. IS encompasses games and a lot more in the world of literary possibility. I'm afraid that if we joined forces, the site would become game-dominated and from my point of view at least, speaking articulately, that would really suck ballass shit.

Plus, I'm a bloodthirsty warlady at heart. If I weren't presently chugging my pre-work beer and getting ready to leave for the day, I would probably be plotting some sort of sabotage...muahahaha!

I'm against the merge, because the CYS idiots would come over. The good CYS people couldn't possibly make up for the stupidity that would swamp IS.

I would also not want to see a merger, but more for the fact that they are different kinds of sites (they are more game and we are more story). They should each exist and have their style, coexisting on the net. Just as I would not want to see this place and Story Sprawl or any of the other CYOA style sites merge. They all have their place.
