Have you been writing on here yet? Reading? Have you come accross any stories that you really liked? Have you rated them and left some comments? What do you think of the place so far? Are you mad that I am sleeping with your mothers?

I will be. I want to get used to the site first. I'm staying loyal to cys, so don't expect too much contribution on my part. I've read a few. like the killer in the school one.
Are you mad that I am sleeping with your mothers?
Naw, it's cool. Especially since I'm with yours as we speak. ;)

Fuck your mom, Im with your sister and your aunt AS WE SPEAK. Anyway, since your familly's being abused violently at the moment I'd just like to mention that I think this site is freaking awesome.

Hmmm.... Well, I guess I should be happy that you answered one of my questions...

I've played a few mediocre ones. Ive decided not to crack an epic until I figure out the site a bit more. As for writing, none yet. I find it really hard to write when Im bitter.

Can I step in here and ask that you reconsider the vernacular you are using. This is a writing site that has a lot of stories in the Choose your own Adventure style. These are not games (for the most part), you do not win or lose. You also don't play them, you read them. If you go in expecting them to be a challenge you have to solve you will be greatly disappointed in a lot of them, as they are just there to tell a tale with several options as to how the story can go. None of the options are "wrong", they just lead to a different version of what could happen.

My apologies. I'll try to change that immediately.

That's another huge difference between IS and CYS. CYS is all about the 'game' and we are all about the story. That was one of the things that initially turned me off from that site when I joined it two and a half years ago.

There are alot of low quality games over there. I will admit they have their jewels as well.

Heh, if my stories were strictly "games" most of them would be listed as "Very hard" given all the gruesome death endings I typically have. A few of them would even be "Impossible."

So some of your stories have no good endings?

There’s one story in particular that was intentionally designed to not have a “good ending”. There’s actually a story that doesn’t have a “bad ending” either.
Both of those are my “ultra offensive” stories though.
Most of my stories do have some good (or okay) endings in there somewhere, but the protagonist getting killed in some way or winding up in an even worse situation are usually making up most of the endings.

Most of your stories are also world-shattering epics. Things actually happen in the things you write, End. Mine are far more social interaction-y, and would therefore be more like minigames, where the outcome doesn't really affect the plotline of the game unless you fail outright.
This is actually an interesting viewpoint...I guess that makes HOID the cheap flash-animated piece of shit that was made in the course of an hour, with tons of repetition for no apparent reason, and MRH the guy who makes the first five minutes of a game, and promises to make more "soon". I have no idea how that'd affect anyone else.

Ive seen the word HOID around, what does it mean?

Hallway of Infinite Doors. It's Apoth's lifeblood. You should check it out- it's under his story tab.

Err - thanks, how do I get there?

Getting to his story should be relatively easy, just go back to the home page and look at the “Most popular stories.” It’s right at the top because it’s got the most “hits”.
Now some of us have 2 “accounts”. One for the actual story site where all the writing gets done and one for the forums. At one time the forums were on the “main site” but you’ve come during a time of coding transition as it were, so there are still some bugs (like ratings not updating) that need to be worked out.
The profiles on the main site (Not the ones on the forums) can also lead to stories. You just click on a writer’s name link, and then click the “View Stories” and you’ll get a list of all the stories that the person has written or contributed to.
You can just scan for stories the traditional way by using drop down lists of course. I’m sure you know how to do that.

Click on the Infinite-Story logo in the top left corner of the screen. Scroll to the middle of that page where it says Most Popular Stories (meaning highest hit counts) and it should be the first or second of the five. I think it's Hall of Infinite Doors, rather than Hallway.
It's pretty good, and one of the best callobrations of more than 3 people on the site. I'd almost say The Best, but that Ronin story on here is pretty damn good. Plus, the Hall is always open for additions, the doors are infinite afterall.
I had to do your job for you AGAIN, apotheosis! Geez, you're really dropping the ball here.
[edit: beaten by moments by EndMaster. And he included the FAQ. Dammit.]
