How to use the variables

Alright. I joined here not too long ago and started reading up on some stuff. I found the BBCode stuff and started experimenting with it.

My question now is, how to set a variable with a choice. Do I have to set it on the following page? Do I set it directly with the choice?
Also there only seems to be a command to set the variable to a certain point. Can I later add another value to it? Or do I have to set it again?
For example: I set a Variable "A" to a value of 1. If I later want to change the value do I have to set it to 2 or do I set it to 1 again which increases the value to 2?

No math. You can set a value for same var in every room if you want. New value overwrites old value
