  • Secret Santa

I am still miffed at the fact that Michael snubbed me on my Secret Santa last year. I propose that we have one again this year!

Create an interesting picture or short piece of writing that you think would really amuse/enchant/horrify the person. I would be happy to do the honors this year in drawing names from my not-so-proverbial gold-sequined top hat.

Please drop a line here if you are interested and I can have everyone sorted out by next week.

    It'll be fun, I promise!

If you'd sent the naked pictures that he asked of you, he probably would've sent you something.

Like what? Naked pictures of him? I value my eyesight too much for that.

So is that a "yes", End?

As funny as that was, I have to decline the Secret Santa stuff, I never was much into those things. You’ll probably get a bunch of other people to join though.

Clarify this Secret Santa thing for me a little more. How exactly does it work? Who does the drawing? Are the gifts supposed to be somehow anonymous?Something writing-related sounds interesting; I have less art ability than Endmaster shows with his occasional forum cartoons, though.

Well, last year, a group of us decided it would be fun to have a Secret Santa, so Apoth drew names and then PMed each individual with the name of the person for whom they had to write/draw/create something. Some of the "gifts" included additions to someone's preexisting story, silly crappy MS Paint pictures and short, personalized works of fiction. Nothing elaborate, really. Everything was sent through PM. Naturally, the "deadline" was Christmas, but being the slackers that we are, lots of us made posts to the effect of Secret Auld Lang Syne and Secret Cupid and maybe even Secret Easterbunny.

I will send really raunchy pornographic images edited on paint with childhood characters superimposed to whoever I get... just as a warning. Or pictures of dead babies next to gourmet meals....

So presumably you find out who your Santa is when you recieve your gift? I've never worked where they do this sort of thing, and my friends are perpetually broke and not of the gift-exchanging persuasion. Forgive me for being a little vague. Anyway, I'm in. To whoever does happen to draw my name, please nothing overtly sexual, crude, or otherwise tasteless. EDIT: Unless you want to spring for a child sex robot; I hear there's a market for them this time of year.

In answer to your question, Locke: yes, you will know ultimately who yours is because you will get a PM from them. The fun part is waiting in anticipation, I suppose.

Glad to see some interest. Don't be shy, folks. Step right up! I won't bite (unless you ask me to).

I'd actually like to be in too - it's a neat idea. Unfortunately I don't really know any of you guys. This would be a great thing to propose on CYS but would hate to steal the idea.

Secret Santa was hardly our original concept. I don't see why you couldn't do it over at CYS too...just don't expect the same level of hilarity and brilliance over there as you get here. But of course you know that already.
