I really do like the idea of a "Fuck You" story contest. Maybe we could try having two contests this year? Is that possible? IWT 9 is due at the end of 2012 like always, but the "Fuck You" deadline is sometime around August? Or am I being completely unrealistic here?

Anyway, Usoki, you fat bastard, you butt custard, you flim-flam flip-flopper, whatever you choose I'm sure it will be devilish delightful. I just want more than three months in which to do it because, you see folks, I am the new and improved Ves who does NOT procrastinate or wait till the eleventh hour. I used to think that true inspiration and genius could only come from all-nighters and slap-dash sprints to the finish line. Then I realized I'd watched one too many sentimental Hollywood proto-literary movie thing. So in the interests of helping to support my good habits and positive personal development...

I sort of figured the "Fuck You" theme we were joking about wasn't necessarily containing people fucking in it (though it could), but rather involved writing the story in such a way that it was insulting the reader.

This could be done in the traditional manner such as calling the reader an idiot when he makes a "wrong choice" and similar things, or another way would be to write a regular story and then deliberately have anti-climatic endings or bad ends the protagonist for no apparent reason especially after he or she has overcome many other challenges in the story. Like the hero storms the castle, slays the dragon, marries the princess and then gets gang raped and murdered by goblins when he's coming home from his celebration party.

EDIT: Of course that second way of doing it, might be a little similar to the "From Hell" contest.

I dunno, guys... it's a bit like the porn theme we had awhile back... I'd hate to recycle contest ideas so quickly...

I am amused by the thought of a theadkiller-esque story, though. Randomly, in the middle of all of the branches, the story narrative slams into a wall and abruptly shifts into something entirely different. Entire passages are written in a foreign language. The story rooms are literally connected out of order. Because Fuck you. Maybe we need a second contest?
