First of all, this stupid computer at the library wont let me respond to the "movie" thread ya'll have going, so I'll put in my two cents here.

Okay, as far as movies go. Pan's Labyrinth was horrible. I hated it. Some nice special effects, but I couln't understand where the movie was going. At all. Dull, really. If you were still staring at the credits in awe then it's probably because you are very stupid.

Okay, that was uncalled for. Sorry.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America was great. My favorite line in the movie, "Although Kazakstan is glorious nation, we face many modern problems - social, economic, and Jew."

The Simpsons movie was pretty funny. Unfortunately, the drunken friend who accompanied me wouldn't shut up, so I was forced to walk out halfway through. Plus it was opening night and I was forced to sit in the front row. SPOILER: You finally get a good look at Bart's penis. About time.

Turistas was alright. By the end I was tired, though.

"Alcohol with movies does not produce the same effect as pot with movies, or certain movies at least. Have I mentioned this before? Some movies actually have a whole SUBPLOT that can only be ascertained through the influence of marijuana. A couple good examples are Harold and Kumar go to Whitecastle and Orgazmo. I swear there is actually a whole new MEANING to those films if your brain is set to the correct potarameters." -Ves

Well, marijuana doesn't quite do it for me. But with Mushrooms, yes, there are some crazy subplots I've uncovered. It's really not something that can be understood unless you've been there and done that.

    Okay, now for TV shows:

There's some pretty interesting ones lately, especially if you have HBO and Showtime.

Among my favorites: Weeds and Dexter on Showtime. Curb Your Enthusiasm and Da Ali G Show, on HBO. The Boondocks on cartoon network is great. South Park and Sara Silverman on Comedy Central.

And I'm afraid I must admit that I'm an avid watcher of Top Chef on Bravo. And let's not forget the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman marathon on Lifetime this Sunday. I know DEP and I are really looking forward to that.

Anyone seen that new Star Trek show, though? I saw the opening credits and was completely put off by the guitar music. So UNTREK like.

There’s a new Star Trek series? Since when?

Unless you’re talking about “Enterprise” and you’re watching it in reruns because that’s been canceled since 2005. It’s the only series I can think of that has the same crappy intro music that you’re talking about.

Yeah Enterprise was sort of disappointing, but the final season episodes of it were probably better than most of Voyager’s episodes during its entire 7 season run.

Pssh! Screw Dr. Quinn. Golden Girls is the only thing worth watching on Lifetime. Err...no, wait...

Yeah, The Boondocks is pretty much the best thing on Adult Swim right now. Though, considering the vapid amounts of shit that is on AS right now, that's not as much of a compliment as it should be. Futurama and Family Guy have been around so long I no longer consider them a part of AS- and everything else sucks.

Top Chef is like any makeover program on TLC, or pretty much anything on Discovery or the History Channel- it's really fun to watch when you're flipping through the channels, and you decide watch it out of boredom...but as far as actually sitting down to watch it...it's just not that good. The only exception is Mythbusters. Holy crap- Mythbusters is amazing.

And, I have to say, when I'm too damn lazy to get off the couch in the afternoon, there's nothing like a good episode of M*A*S*H on Hallmark.

Dexter is a pretty awesome show, the second season is starting to get really juicy.
I still enjoy House,MD.even though the formula is old and predictable.
Criminal Intent has lost its vigor as all the characters are gettin fat right before your eyes, but for some reason I still TiVo it.

Weeds, Californication, South Park, Nip Tuck, and other things if they are on and I feel like I want to procrastinate work.

When I'm drunk, I'll watch anything that is remotely amusing and find it to be hilarious.

I also catch the news occasionally, (anything but Fox) and like to watch the stock market channel.

Ooohhh, Myth Busters is enjoyable as well.

I'm all about Heroes, Dexter, Lost, Kid Nation, Survivor, Weeds, Californication, The Simpsons, and reruns of Taxi, The Muppet Show, SNL, Quantim Leap, and a few others.

Speaking specifically of Heroes, I have a few thoughts... The cheerleader who heals from any wound, people accross the nation rejoiced when she hit 18, probably hoping for some nude photos, but there is much more to be joyace about. The girl heals from ANYTHING. You know what that means, right? Her hymen will heal itself. Virgin pussy forever. (actually, that sounds like a good band name)

Also, that new chick that showed up... that little kids cousin or whatever... She can do anything she see's someone else do, whether in person or on TV. That bitch needs to start watching some porn so she can get rid of the gag reflex and learn some of the more complex positions.

I just started watching Dexter and it is a really good show. I recommend it strongly, it is nice to see a serial killer as a protagonist.

And, though this thread is outdated, to reply to DEP, that would get really fucking messy. I'd hate to have to clean my sheets every time I have sex with a girl.

Sex in a bed? Hmmm... I never considered that.

                    And yes, Dexter is awesome.

She wouldn't like sex... I mean... she still feels pain. Even if a guy did get off on virgin pussy, she wouldn't be into it.

Dexter is great, I lust after him frequently in an intellectual way.

I don't know, Katie. This chick feel the pain, but continues to throw herself from buildings and cut herself for no reason. She might just be into pain.

I did consider that... especially with the whole cutting off of the toe... I mean... who DOES that?!

I wonder if they will finish the season. I wish we had writers back.

They're supposed to come back and finish the season towards the end of this month.

I hope the writers go away forever.

Nothing would be better. The last thing this nation needs is more Hollywood right now.

Try reading books, instead. I love TV as much as the next stupid asshole, but I would be in total favor of it's abolishment.
